:: 百字讚 The Hundred word Eulogy ::

Chinese Emperor’s beautiful poem about the Holy Prophet Muhammad

Taken from: http://www.themuslimtimes.org/2013/02/uncategorized/chinese-emperors-beautiful-poem-about-prophet-muhammad-sa

Hong-Wu (also known by his given name Zhū Yuánzhāng) was the Emperor of China between 1368 – 1398 CE. He was the first Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, leading an Army that conquered the country and defeated away the Mongol-led Yuan Dynasty.

Despite being a non-Muslim, Hong-Wu ordered the construction of several mosques in Nanjing, Yunnan, Guangdong and Fujian. He rebuilt the Jinjue Mosque in Nanjing and large numbers of Hui (Muslim Chinese) people moved to the city during his rule.

He had around 10 Muslim generals in his army, including Chang Yuchun, Lan Yu, Ding Dexing, Mu Ying, Feng Sheng and Hu Dahai. In addition, Hong-Wu’s spouse, Empress Ma, descended from a Muslim family while he was originally a member of a Muslim rebel group led by Guo Zhixin.

Emperor Hong-Wu wrote a 100 word eulogy praising Islam, Allah and the Prophet Muhammad which he had placed in the mosques which he ordered to be built. The eulogy is in the form of a poem, each verse containing 4 words (characters) and 4 syllables. In the translation below I have strayed away from trying to keep the 4 word per verse translation in favour of a more literal translation which conveys the full meaning in flowing English.

Since Creation of Universe
Heaven has already appointed,
Faith Preaching Giant Saint,
From West He’s Born,
To receive Holy Scripture,

To guide all creations,
King of all Kings,

With five daily prayers,
Silently hope for peace,
With heart toward Allah,
Empower the poor ones,
Save them from calamity,
See through the Unseen,
Pulling souls and spirits,
Away from all wrongdoings,
Mercy to the World,
Walking ancient Crowned Path,
Evil vanquished to One,
Religion Pure and True,

:: Came as a mercy ::

Assalam Alaikum,

Every minute of my breathing moment is spending being grateful to Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, for His endless mercy to guide me and to give me strength to walk on the straight path.

Being spent twenty over odd years of being a non-muslim has given me the understanding of how lost one is without the guidance of Allah, subhana wa ta'ala... There is always a hikmah behind everything... I always wonder what is the hikmah of being a 'revert', to spend the first part of my life not knowing about islam, and to be guided again~

I start to have a glimpse of that hikmah from our beloved Prophet Muhammad, sallahu alayhi wa salaam~ There are some hadiths which I wish to share...

Narrated Ata bin Yasar: I met Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As and asked him, "Tell me about the description of Allah's Apostle which is mentioned in Torah (i.e. Old Testament.") He replied, 'Yes. By allah, he is described in Torah with some of the qualities attributed to him in the Quran as follows: "O Prophet ! We have sent you as a witness (for allah's True religion) And a giver of glad tidings (to the faithful believers), And a warner (to the unbelievers) And guardian of the illiterates. You are My slave and My messenger (i.e. Apostle). I have named you "Al-Mutawakkil" (who depends upon allah). You are neither discourteous, harsh Nor a noise-maker in the markets And you do not do evil to those Who do evil to you, but you deal with them with forgiveness and kindness. Allah will not let him (the Prophet) die till he makes straight the crooked people by making them say: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah," With which will be opened blind eyes and deaf ears and enveloped hearts." (Bukhari Book #34, Hadith #335)

One day, the companions, as a result of pressures put on them by non-Muslims, asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) to make a prayer condemning the enemies of Islam. In response, the Prophet said:

"I did not come for condemnation; I came as a mercy."
(Muslim, jihad 104; Abu Yaia, al-Musnad, XI, 35; al-Bayhaqi, al-Sunan al-Kubrd, III, 352; al-Tabarabi, al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, III, 223)

The prayer he made against his fiercest enemies was as follows: "O my Lord! They know not! Give them guidance!"
(Bukhari, Anbiya 54; Muslim, Jihad 104; Ibn Majah, Fitan 33; Ibn Hibban, al-Sahih, III, 254)

I would love to think that someone had done this dua for me somewhere in my life... During the time when I was not aware of the teaching of islam, I really did not know what's in life... If someone could see the lose state I was in and to talk to me about the oneness of The God, I would have grabbed onto the rope of Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, long ago... Then again, Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, has the best plan for me~

I know how it is to be lost... Subhan'Allah! Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, give me the courage, the fear, the strength, the hidayat to choose this path upon knowing the sweetest of the deen... There are many out there who knows about the deen but are not following it... Why? Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, has His plans for them... Maybe just like me, to let me see and experience life lessons in order to taste the sweetest of the deen~

There are many out there, like me, who are very lost and are just following the flow of the society... Among these are some who knows about the teaching of islam but many do not... I would believe that if they know it, they would be a sincere servant of Allah, subhana wa ta'ala~ Who is going to reach out to these group of mankind?

That's where I think the 'reverts' should do the job... One, they know the feeling of being lost and the feeling of searching for meaning. Two, 'reverts' have tasted the sweetest of iman and because of that he/she refuses to go back to the dark path... Third, 'reverts' do know the process of searching for truth and could demonstrate to others, through his/her daily activities...

Of course, this is a responsibility which need time and strength from Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, to carry out~ There are people like AbdulRaheem Green, or Hussein Yee, who are taking on the da'wah project on an international level... But how many of us could take up such big responsibility? Insha'Allah, one day we would... But till the day come, we can do da'wah in whatever we can...

If we can't speak, we can show by our actions... As I believe in the phrase 'action speaks louder than words'... But where do we start? To me, I am always reminded in my salat that Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, is Al-Rahman, Al-Raheem; The most gracious, The most merciful, The most compassionate...

To let others know about Allah, suhana wa ta'ala, let traces of His attributes be reflected in us~ Among mankind, there is one who reflected on Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, attributes very well and act according to it... And that's none other than our beloved Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him... In the hadith below, this man decided to follow the actions/sayings of our beloved prophet, peace be upon him, and it was informed to him that Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, loves him.

'A'isha reported: The Messenger of allah (may peace be upon him) sent a man in charge of an expedition and he would recite for his Companions during their prayer, ending (recitation) with:" Say, He is God, One." When they returned mention was made of it to the Messenger of allah (may peace be upon him). He (the Holy Prophet) told them to ask him why he had done like that. So they asked him and he said: Verily, it is an attribute of the Compassionate One, and (for this reason) I love to recite it. The Messenger of allah (may peace be upon him) thereupon said: Inform him that Allah loves him. (Muslim Book #004, Hadith #1773)
Very sadly, there are muslim in our ummah who 'discriminate' against other mankind... Yes, I would agree that there are people out there who are not behaving as well as they are expected to... But who are we to look down on them when they do not have the guidance of Allah, subhana wa ta'ala yet? Who are are to look down on those who have not taste the sweetness of being patience and restraining one nafs? Didn't our Prophet show us the way to treat them? The least we could do is to make dua'a for them, instead of cursing them~

Mankind were one community and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent down the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed. And only those to whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it after clear proofs had come unto them through hatred, one to another. Then Allah by His Leave guided those who believed to the truth of that wherein they differed. And Allah guides whom He wills to the Straight Path.

( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #213)

Mankind is one community... Why are we not those who can show those who are not on the straight path the brightness of it? Yes, Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, guides who He wills but that does not happen by magic... There are occasions when we look at the mannerism and action of a person and recognise it as an islamic way of living, but that person is not exposed to the deen~ That is our responsibility as a muslim to inform them and to share with them~

Insha'Allah, Allah subhana wa ta'ala, let us be those who can be an positive example to others~

I wish and I pray that whoever who is reading this will reflect on surah Al-Fatihah and realised that the actual fact that we are able to reflect, is a gift from Allah, subhana wa ta'ala~

May Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, gives us the strength, the courage, the wisdom to reflect His compassion, His mercy to others, with Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, be our guide... Ameen~

:: Sunnah way of cutting nails ::

'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Ten are the acts according to fitra: clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, snuffing water in the nose, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes and cleaning one's private parts with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth. (Sahih Muslim Book #002, Hadith #0502)

Anas reported: A time limit has been prescribed for us for clipping the moustache, cutting the nails, plucking hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes, that it should not be neglected far more than forty nights.  (Sahih Muslim Book#002, Hadith #0497)

:: The Last Sermon of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ::

The last sermon of the Prophet-peace be upon him- is known as Khutbatul Wada'. It is mentioned in almost all books of Hadith. Following Ahadith in Sahih Al-Bukhari refer to the sermon and quote part of it. See Al-Bukhari, Hadith 1623, 1626, 6361) Sahih of Imam Muslim also refers to this sermon in Hadith number 98. Imam al-Tirmidhi has mentioned this sermon in Hadith nos. 1628, 2046, 2085. Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal has given us the longest and perhaps the most complete version of this sermon in his Masnud, Hadith no. 19774.

This Khutbah of the Prophet-peace be upon him- was long and it contained much guidance and instructions on many issues. The Prophet-peace be upon him- gave this sermon in front of a large gathering of people during Hajj.

Whosoever heard whatever part of the sermon reported it and later some scholars put it together. It is a great khutbah and we should all pay attention to its message and guidance. Following are the basic points mentioned in this khutbah:

O People

Lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefor listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People

Just as you regard this month, this day, this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest); therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.

Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all interest due to Abbas Ibn ‘Abd al Muttalib (the Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived.

Beware of Satan for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People

It is true that you have certain rights in regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives, only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat you women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People

Listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white- except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim, which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefor, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah (Hadith), and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listened to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people."

...This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

( سورة المائدة , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #3)

:: inspiredbymuhammad.com ::

Assalam Alaikum! =)

Just wanting to share this site, http://inspiredbymuhammad.com~

The Inspired by Muhammad campaign is designed to improve the public understanding of Islam and Muslims. It showcases Britons demonstrating how Muhammad inspires them to contribute to society, with a focus on women’s rights, social justice and the environment. The campaign coincides with a national poll conducted by YouGov which shows that 69% of people believe that Islam encourages the oppression of women, that just 6% of people associate Islam with justice and that a mere 6% believe that Islam promotes active measures to protect the environment. Overall, nearly half of all people in the UK believe that Islam does not have a positive impact on British society.

 MashaAllah! Finally someone is standing out to give the true teachings of Islam and how great our Prophet Muhammad (PUBH) is!

Yay! Yay! =D

:: Prophet Muhammad's love for his wives ::

Assalam Alaikum,

Upon listening to this song again, I could briefly relate how Prophet Muhammad could have felt when Angel Jibril came to him~ The confusion, the uncertainty in the remaining journey in life and the increasing expectations from him~

Indeed, love deepens and grows much when someone was there to believe you when others did not and supported you when times were bad~

That's the noble job of the women! =D And those who are always there for reverts in Islam... =D

:: Works of Allah(SWT) ::

Assalam Alaikum,

This video brings back memories of me witnessing the aftermath of Tsunami when I was in Sri Lanka... The initial plan was to go Banda Aceh for the volunteering project but as the place was not stable, the destination was changed to Sri Lanka...

My first time experiencing the effects of a natural disaster... I guess it's Allah, Subhana Wa ta'Ala, will to knock sense into me and make me realised that the nature is indeed more powerful than human! Well, I've been having sheltered life in Singapore for all my life before!

What made me realised then was how strong people is... and how life simple can be!

While I was still freshly graduated, stepping into the messy society, Allah, Subhana Wa ta'Ala, gave me a glimpse of the real meaning of living... To have a life, to live, is the happiest thing on Earth~ *Well, that time I have no concept of the Tawheed yet...*

Though life is simple, but the Sri Lankans are soOooo much happy and smiling! Of course, it was then that I remind myself that I should be reminded at all times that there are people in other parts of the world that is not as in good condition as me~

Anyway, back to tsunami in Indonesia... hmMmmm... I didn't know about the surviving Masjids after the Tsunami... Wow~ Isn't the work of Allah, Subhana Wa ta'Ala, wonderful? It must be a reminder for us that the house of Allah, Subhana Wa ta'Ala, is the safest place to be! =)

Now I know where to go if there's a natural disaster!

To the Masjid!!!

hee~

:: A reflection before it's too late ::

For those who respond to their Lord, are (all) good things. But those who respond not to Him,- Even if they had all that is in the heavens and on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom. For them will the reckoning be terrible: their abode will be
hell,- what a bed of misery!

:: A man cried for us ::

Assalam Alaikum,

I was watching PeaceTV and Br. Dawud Wharnsby was singing this with the children~ Makes me go weak listening to it, making me emotional~ haa~

Even before my parents are worrying about me, Prophet Muhammad was already worrying about me and his ummah, 1400 years ago!!! The picture of him crying for us makes me feel like as if I've disappointed him somehow, after all those difficult tests which he had gone through from Allah (SWT)...

This is seriously something which we need to reflect on ourselves~ Better start following our dearest Prophet Muhammad... An act a day does really make a difference in long term~

:: Saying Salam to non-muslim ::

Assalam Alaikum,

My friend and I were talking about this topic of returning the greeting of the non-muslim if they were to greet us 'Assalam Alaikum'... I didn't know that we are not supposed to say back 'Wa Alaikum Salam'... Just gotta say 'Wa Alaikum', translated 'and upon you'

Well, I decided to find out myself~

Prophet Muhammad is just such a smartie!!! He knew how to answer cleverly, in reply to cursing from the disbelievers! He's kind and lenient too! We gotta learn from him! Read more Hadiths... Read read read~

=======================

According to Qadhi Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi (Allah have mercy on him), he states:

“The word Salam is one the good names of Allah Almighty and ‘Assalamu Alaykum’ means: Allah Almighty is your guardian and caretaker. (Ahkam al-Qur’an). Therefore, due to this aspect of Salam, it is generally impermissible to use this form of greeting for non-Muslims.
(Taken from http://www.central-mosque.com/fiqh/salam1.htm)

Narrated Anas bin Malik: A Jew passed by Allah's Apostle and said, "As-Samu 'Alaika." Allah's Apostle said in reply, "We 'Alaika." Allah's Apostle then said to his companions, "Do you know what he (the Jew) has said? He said, 'As-Samu 'Alaika.'" They said, "O Allah's Apostle! Shall we kill him?" The Prophet, said, "No. When the people of the Book greet you, say: 'wa 'alaikum.'"
(Book #84, Hadith #60)

Narrated 'Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) A group of Jews entered upon the Prophet and said, "As-Samu-alaikum." (i.e. death be upon you). I understood it and said, "wa-alaikum As-Samu wal-la'n. (death and the curse of Allah be Upon you)." Allah's Apostle said "Be calm, O 'Aisha! Allah loves that on, should be kind and lenient in all matters." I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Haven't you heard what they (the Jews) have said?" Allah's Apostle said "I have (already) said (to them) "And upon you!"
(Book #73, Hadith #53)

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mulaika: 'Aisha said that the Jews came to the Prophet and said, "As-Samu 'alaikum" (death be on you). 'Aisha said (to them), "(Death) be on you, and may Allah curse you and shower His wrath upon you!" The Prophet said, "Be calm, O 'Aisha ! You should be kind and lenient, and beware of harshness and Fuhsh (i.e. bad words)." She said (to the Prophet), "Haven't you heard what they (Jews) have said?" He said, "Haven't you heard what I have said (to them)? I said the same to them, and my invocation against them will be accepted while theirs against me will be rejected (by Allah). "
(Book #73, Hadith #57)

W'salam,

:: Be thankful ::

Assalam Alaikum,

Sometimes, we are take something for granted so much that we don't realised how important it is to us, till we lose it...

This article is an example of how a brother has been paralyzed completely since birth and can only move his head and fingers... And when he was asked a question by a sheikh, he wept... Weeping for something which everyone has an ability to do it...

See you not (O men) that Allah has subjected for you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and has completed and perfected His Graces upon you, (both) apparent (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, and the lawful pleasures of this world, including health, good looks, etc.) and hidden [i.e. One's Faith in Allah (of Islamic Monotheism) knowledge, wisdom, guidance for doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in Paradise]? Yet of mankind is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or a Book giving light!
(سورة لقمان , Luqman, Chapter #31, Verse #20)

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said, "There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are)health and free time for doing good."
(Book #76, Hadith #421)

We need to be thankful everytime we are able to complete wudu and prayer... At least, we have the best of health to do it~

:: Following Prophet Muhammad's love of animals ::

Assalam Alaikum,

This is the view of my little window... Pigeons love to sit and peep into my room on the ledge~ hehehe~ Then I remember that I have some oats and I thought I could feed some to the pigeons...

Being a city girl, who was brought up without much contact with animals, I am scared that there'll be too much mess outside my window and I might be attacked! But then again, it's my responsibility as part of the nature to take care of Allah's creation, isn't it? I just gotta overcome my fears of animals... hee~

Well, I'm just trying my best to follow Prophet Muhammad~ hee~ =D

Abu Hurairah reported: Messenger of Allah said, "While a man was walking on his way he became extremely thirsty. He found a well and went down into it to drink water. Upon leaving it, he saw a dog which was panting out of thirst. His tongue was lolling out and he was eating moist earth due to his extreme thirst. The man thought to himself, 'This dog is extremely thirsty as I was.' So he descended back into the well, filled up his leather sock with water, and holding it in his teeth, climbed up and quenched the thirst of the dog. Allah was pleased by this man’s action and forgave him his sins". The Companions then asked the Prophet: "Shall we be rewarded for showing kindness to the animals also?'' He said, "A reward is given in connection with kindness to every living thing". [Bukhari and Muslim]

Abu Hurairah reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah say, "Allah created one hundred units of mercy on the Day He created the heavens and the earth. Each one of them can contain all that is between the Heaven and the Earth. Of them, he put one on earth, through which a mother has compassion for her children and animals and birds have compassion for one another. On the Day of Resurrection, He will perfect and complete His Mercy". (That is He will use all the hundred units of mercy for His servants on that Day). [Bukhari and Muslim]

:: Women - The majority in jahanam ::

Assalam Alaikum,

I was listening to a talk and I overheard that women are the majority in jahanam (Hell)... I decided to check it out in the Hadith from Sahih Bukhari... Oh man! Now I am scared... =(

Keep praying and making dua that I'll leave this world as a righteous muslimah~ Ameen!

2013 update: Check out :: o-women-give-alms :: to avoid such scenario~

=======================

Narrated Usama: The Prophet said, "I stood at the gate of paradise and saw that the majority of the people who entered it were the poor, while the wealthy were stopped at the gate (for the accounts). But the companions of the Fire were ordered to be taken to the Fire. Then I stood at the gate of the Fire and saw that the majority of those who entered it were women."
(Book #62, Hadith #124)

Narrated Usama: The Prophet said, "I stood at the gate of paradise and saw that the majority of the people who had entered it were poor people, while the rich were forbidden (to enter along with the poor, because they were waiting the reckoning of their accounts), but the people of the Fire had been ordered to be driven to the Fire. And I stood at the gate of the Fire and found that the majority of the people entering it were women."
(Book #76, Hadith #555)

Narrated Imran: The Prophet said, "I looked at paradise and saw that the majority of its residents were the poor; and I looked at the (Hell) Fire and saw that the majority of its residents were women."
(Book #62, Hadith #126)

Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: The Prophet said, "I looked into paradise and found that the majority of its dwellers were the poor people, and I looked into the (Hell) Fire and found that the majority of its dwellers were women."
(Book #76, Hadith #456)

Narrated 'Imran: The Prophet said, "I looked into paradise and saw that the majority of its people were the poor, and I looked into the Fire and found that the majority of its people were women."
(Book #76, Hadith#554)

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abbas: The sun eclipsed in the life-time of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) . Allah's Apostle offered the eclipse prayer and stood for a long period equal to the period in which one could recite Surat-al-Baqara. Then he bowed for a long time and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing, then bowed again for a long time but for a shorter period than the first; then he prostrated twice and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing; then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the previous one, and then he raised his head and stood up for a long period which was shorter than the first standing, then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the first bowing, and then prostrated (twice) and finished the prayer. By then, the sun (eclipse) had cleared. The Prophet then said, "The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah. They eclipse neither because of the death of somebody nor because of his life (i.e. birth). So when you see them, remember Allah." The people say, "O Allah's Apostle! We saw you taking something from your place and then we saw you retreating."

The Prophet replied, "I saw paradise and stretched my hands towards a bunch (of its fruits) and had I taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remains. I also saw the Hell-fire and I had never seen such a horrible sight. I saw that most of the inhabitants were women." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Why is it so?" The Prophet replied, "Because of their ungratefulness." It was asked whether they are ungrateful to Allah. The Prophet said, "They are ungrateful to their companions of life (husbands) and ungrateful to good deeds. If you are benevolent to one of them throughout the life and if she sees anything (undesirable) in you, she will say, 'I have never had any good from you.' "
(Book #18, Hadith #161)

Assalam Alaikum,

This is a very emotional narrations~

It feels even more painful to see how people behave nowadays, especially after what Prophet Muhammad had fight to bring guidance to mankind~

I have no power to change the mindset of people now, but I know, it starts from me to give my next generation a good foundation in their Deen~ I shall work hard and strive hard for the cause of my purpose in life, Insha'Allah~

:: Malay Vs Muslim ::

Assalam Alaikum,

I saw this message from an ex-colleague of mine and I feel like I need to vent the frustration out from me! urghHhhh!!!

"Sigh... I just saw a young couple... Early 30s, with a 4 or 5 year old son, still awake at this hour, at a coffeeshop hanging out with their friends... Mummy's smoking n daddy jst came, brought a bottle of hard liqour... Oh, forgot to mention, young muslim couple..."

Why did she need to mention they are muslim couple??!!

I mean there's difference between religion and race.... Being Malay doesn't mean you are a muslim right? Like one can be a Malay but a disbeliever, right?

If they are real muslim, they won't do such things, right?

Narrated abu Huraira: the Prophet said, "When an adulterer commits illegal sexual intercourse, then he isnot a believer at the time, he is doing it, and when a drinker of an alcoholic liquor drinks it, then he isnot a believer at the time of drinking it, and when a thief steals, then he is not a believer at the time ofstealing, and when a robber robs, and the people look at him, then he is not a believer at the time of doing robbery.
(Book #43, Hadith #655)

Narrated abu Huraira: the Prophet said, "the one who commits an illegal sexual intercourse is not abeliever at the time of committing illegal sexual intercourse and a thief is not a believer at the time ofcommitting theft and a drinker of alcoholic drink is not a believer at the time of drinking. Yet, (the gateof) repentance is open thereafter."
(Book #82, Hadith #801)

Sometimes, I just feel that people don't really know what they are talking about, even at the expense of tarnishing the good image of Islam, without knowing that they had done so~

ughHhhhh~ Why did she do that? I think I am supersensitive to culture/race and religion issues~

I prayed that people would be careful of what they are saying~
